Christmas Card 21 - Shepherd

He checked off the ewe and her two lambs on his iPad. They all looked well. Things had all gone well tonight. He only had one dead lamb in the back of his Landrover. Sometimes, if a ewe couldn't cope with all her lambs, you could take one of them, wrap it in the skin of a dead lamb and the dead lamb's mother would feed the foreign lamb. He and Ellie were going through an adoption process at the moment. Theirs was a little more complicated. Ellie was keen that the boy would move into Tom's old room, which she had kept exactly as it was. She had even wanted to keep Tom's clothes for the new boy but he had put his foot down. What worked for sheep wasn't right for people.
