Maryport

Decided to have a drive up the coast today.
Chris did a resettlement in 1994 with the army and stayed in Maryport for the month he was working in Wastwater with the National Trust. We decided to call here to see if it had changed much....it had and it looked bleak. Unemployment appears fairly high and the shops in the town reflect the lack of money. It used to be a thriving fishing port, but a lot of the boats are either up for sale or near rusting away in the salt air.....a bit sad really
