Meilen

Wonderful mild day again today. Worked from home and went for a long 2h walk at lunchtime around the vineyards of our neighborhood. No jacket, just a pullover and plenty if sun.

Our village Meilen was around 1900 the biggest wine producer in Switzerland before the grape phylloxera destroyed the vineyards and cheap wine from the neighboring countries was brought in with the railway.

The still existing wine producers offer high quality white wines and do not seem to have problems to sell their production at a good price.

Last working day tiday and also last day in Meilen this year. Will head to the mountains tomorrow morning.
