Minimalist Flowers

I took a brief walk late this afternoon along Union Street in search of a blip, after driving back to Northampton from Boston in the morning (we spent the night at the hotel near the airport where we'd parked).

However sparse, this close-up image was the best of the various flowers I captured. (The large view is very nice.) I'd appreciate any opinion as to what flower it is.
