A tale of three turkeys

We ordered a turkey from Booths some weeks ago but unfortunately the store in Keswick has been trashed by the floods.  They said they would deliver so we waited in this morning for a scheduled delivery.

When the delivery didn't arrive Jane went down to the 'popup' version of Booths and bought one as they had them on the shelves.

Late this afternoon,  the manager from Booths turned up with a second turkey and as he was about to leave the promised delivery arrived late.  As a result we had three turkeys.   They really are in such a muddle following the chaos of the floods.  I can't fault their customer service though.

PS,  we didn't keep all the turkeys although they said we could.  I suggested they should donate them to a local charity if they can't resell them.

This picture is of Derwentwater in a gale.  We have never seen the water as high as it is and more rain is forecast tonight and Friday.
