A welcome visitor to our feeder

Several years ago Great Spotted Woodpeckers were regular visitors but since then I've only seen them from time to time, sometimes in flight.  So this male was very welcome and we spent quite a while watching him. 

A return visit to the doctor for me and a chance for chat and  reassurance - the letter from the hospital had not yet arrived so he didn't have all the information he needed.

A quick trip to the supermarket to pick up a few more items (mainly booze) that we didn't get yesterday.  A lot more civilised an experience than yesterday.  Apparently the morning had been horrendous.
