Blip love by the spoonful

The doorbell rang, but we thought all our packages had been delivered. T opened the door and another very special one sat waiting in a box that said Spoonful of Comfort DDW. I was more than correct with my guess and I felt such an instant outpouring of warmth and friendship. Of course I shed a few tears followed by oohs & aahs as we opened the box. The contents and stories that filled the box said comfort in a warm whisper. 

Now the card was addressed to me, but T felt such a relief too!  She was running out of take out joints and ideas for meals.  I was secretly afraid I'd never find anything in the kitchen or pantry again. The kitchen is unknown territory for her as are our budgets for me. 

It arrived just in time as T did manage to haul me to the doctor again for a chest x-ray with surprisingly little complaint from me. I know when I am sick and I give in. To make a long story short they saw an 'infiltrate' on the film and I'm being treated for pneumonia. More drugs, an antibiotic and some cough syrup with codeine before bed to help counteract the shaky jitters from the inhaler and prednisone. I'm contagious, and must rest. I'm not good at resting, but I will, I promise. We'll have a quiet holiday dinner with lobster steamed and picked from the shell at the local fish market, jumbo shrimp and stuffed clams. Tonight, it's going to be a spoonfuls of the special gifted soup served in some blue willow bowls from dear Subjunctive.

Our Christmas exchange with my brother and family will be a walk through the woods to his house when health has returned, and T will see her sister & family tomorrow afternoon if she continues her healthy progress.

How very, very true. 

For the Record,
This day came in as the warmest New England Christmas Eve I have ever felt, 60 degrees. Unnatural and great for all the holiday germs I suppose.

All hands trying to heal with help from friends.

Oh and our internet, cable & phone bundle service was restored with some workers doing something on a pole outside. Our iPhones saved us yesterday, but wifi is a sneaky addiction!
