Zanda's first Christmas

What a special day - the first Christmas for the boy.   Clearly, he won't remember it and of course he was totally overwhelmed by the number of presents.  His parents are particularly pleased with the lego that is for '12 - 18 months', as this 7 month old boy can wait and have that present recycled. He'll never know the difference.  I guess this is also the last time I'll every be opening a double ration of presents as he obviously could't do it.

I was given a stunning broach by my husband which took quite some organising to have made and brought out to Zim.  Well done him.  My presents from my father in law were signed 'from Grumpy', which is taken from his nickname of Grumpy Sir.

This evening we went to the neighbours for a fantastic Christmas dinner. 31 people around the table, it made our Christmas day and was just a lovely evening.  Not sure if we'll be eating much in the coming days and there will certainly be a few runs we need to get in, however for the time being we're both feeling quite smug as we did get out for a run this afternoon.

The evening was slightly marred by getting home to find a rather large spider by the bed, my husband nonchalantly said this was a 'Baboon spider' but couldn't really remember if it was a spider to worry about, unusually for my husband, he killed the spider rather than rescuing it.  Thank you Google, for telling me that it's from the tarantula family and not for novices as it's quite defensive.  I think my husband knew this all along, I just knew I didn't want it near my bed.
