Vespa America
I shot a bunch of photos at our local Independence Day parade this morning. On my walk home, I came across this beautiful red Vespa decorated for the parade. As I snapped the picture, the owner explained that she left the key on while waiting and the battery went dead, and she was unable to ride in the parade.
She had purchased the Vespa for her daughter who is studying in Marseille for the year and had planned to ship it to her. After a week there, she told her mom to leave it home, thinking that she would be taking her life in her hands trying to drive around Marseille on the scooter.
This is also the day that the great American, Louis Armstrong celebrated his birthday (4 July, 1900), although historians discovered later that he was actually born on 4 August, 1901. Since I am blipping the Italian scooter today, Here is Louis performing in Italy late in his career.
And a blip of the great Bannan , shot one year ago on 4 July.
