In the news...
... flooding is the main story in both Yorkshire and Lancashire on Boxing Day.
The River Nidd in Knaresborough is in flood and the river is seriously high causing severe problems, particularly for those who have been evacuated from mobile homes further along the river bank.
The picture is taken from the road bridge on the main road from Harrogate to Knaresborough, when the rain eased off mid-afternoon.
I've included an extra shot to give an idea what it normally looks like. This is normally where popular rowing boats are moored. I'm not sure whether or not the boats are still tied up under the water.
Currently, you can only see the tops of the fences either side of the mooring area and the tops of a couple of park benches near the red cover for the lifesaving equipment. The top half of the small boat attendants' hut can be seen on the right.
