Neat but not gaudy?
We found room to eat some cake today - the same cake whose enrobing with marzipan I blipped over a week ago. The icing is the colour of 1950 city snow, created thus by the use of my preferred unrefined icing sugar ( less tooth-screamingly sweet), and is simply slathered on as one might plaster a wall. Santa, tree and differently-proportioned reindeer are 42 years old and have the charm of personal memories.
All very unsophisticated - but the cake itself, I have to say, is the best I have ever tasted. It is foolproof and fabulous.
No false modesty here ...
