Ukuleles and Fishing

The big kids requested ukuleles for Christmas and have been filling the air with sounds generally pleasant. This morning, within three minutes of waking they were playing again, and had me growling at them on behalf of everyone else who was still in bed. Here they are in the attic/playroom, where I hoped they would not disturb.

Later in the day, Poppy took them fishing. The extra shows my daughter's willingness to get dirty and disgusting for the sake of catching a fish. When they did catch a pretty, silvery little thing with big black eyes as cute as a puppy's they got a volley of abuse from me about their cruelty to God's poor creatures. My eldest laughed (at my "stupidity") while the fish was fed to a waiting pelican. But the boy's tenderness was aroused. He abandoned fishing to go for a walk with Mum and little sister.
