The Haunt of Sweeney Todd

A walk around the City of London today in humid drizzly conditions. The walk took in the Middle and Inner Temples full of quiet courtyards and well kept gardens a world away from the rush of modern London. Near Temple Gardens is the magnificent Temple Church built in 1185 by the Knights Templar and featured in the book and film'The Da Vinci Code'.

Just off Fleet Street is this rather dark and creepy courtyard called 'Hen and Chickens Court'. this is where Sweeney Todd the Demon Barber of Fleet Street is said to have plied his deadly trade.
