Leatherjacket

A mixed day. Not great fishing but we did catch a leatherjacket.....a species I'd not come across before. Nasty spike on it's back that we kept well clear of. Good eating though....more like crayfish than a typical fish (whatever that is).

Gorgeous weather and a nice relaxing afternoon at Vivian Bay where I climbed up to the Thornton lighthouse on Kuwati Point overlooking where we had our anchor incident yesterday. Superb views overlooking North Channel all the way out to Little Barrier Island.
