St Aidans Country Park under water
This is St Aidan's Country Park,
For those not familiar with it there are usually several lakes with walks round them and reed beds for the birds, now it is just one large lake. As the river Aire runs at the far side there are flood gates that are opened to allow water into the lakes at times when the Aire is high, as it is at the moment hence the flooding down in Leeds, this helps the village of Fairburn further down river to escape flooding, as this used to flood badly, although I doubt if they have escaped this time. There are no paths round it at the moment. It was an awesome sight and this photo doesn't do it justice. We are stood at the top of the hill looking down on it.
