A Bird on a Branch
6.6C bright and sunny all day. Light breeze.
When Maeve the Deerhound and I were out for our first short walk this morning we saw another colourful sunrise. There was a ship passing out at sea and the sunrise colours were reflected in the water left standing in the nearest field after yesterday's rain. In one part of the field there is a large pond. The water had stopped running off the field and down the road to the shore by this morning. I have added an extra with a shot from the top corner of the field. Worth recording. I have never seen so much standing water, or water in the burn here in the ten years we have been here.
Grocery shopping this morning at Sainsburys and in M&S at City Quay/Gallagher Retail Park in Dundee then we got Maeve from the car so we could have a short walk and revisit the buildings (not far from the car park) where we have been getting our most recent pictures for Derelict Sunday. Boarded up windows today, with a mystery broken sign above and a bird on a branch painted on the central boards.
After lunch Apothecary7 and I took Maeve for a walk. We went up to the church and carried on out the road towards Scryne. Craigmill burn was extremely full and running very fast. We turned right at Craigmill farm and went down the track to the shore road. The track was surprisingly dry. We came back along the cycle path and turned up the road to the shore to get home rather than go on the more usual longer loop up the main road. There were signs of the flood/runoff water on the road where debris had been left after the flow stopped.
Later Apothecary7 was working on a new painting/collage.
