Checking the river

My parents live very close to the South Tyne. This morning I popped down to check the height of the water. The river isn't as big as it was three weeks ago, but it's still high. You can see some of the deposits and damage from then (and possibly again yesterday) in my blip. Just a few metres upriver our neighbours were busying shoring up their patio and garden with loads of gravel.

This afternoon K and her daughters came over for afternoon tea (I baked banana bread and we also had the second of my three Christmas cakes), music making, and a game of Pictionary.

No exercise (again!)
