Brand New Ladybirds
Today three of a group of four ladybird pupae hatched. I have been watching them each day for some time. When I first looked one was already moving away from the scene. Two had just emerged. I was surprised at how pale they were. The newest one on righthand side and in the lower shot still has translucent wing cases. If you look carefully you can see the folded flight wings beneath it.
This shot completes the ladybird lifecycle that I have been recording in the last few weeks. Here are the various stages-
