A Star Less Bright
The star above the German Christmas market continues to shine even though Christmas has come and gone. It will shine until January 4th just to wring a little more money out of all the tourists flocking into the city to celebrate Hogmanay, Scottish style.
It is strange that one stray remark from an exiled offspring can change perceptions of events. His Lordship and I had rather liked this market with all things German, whether food or wooden decorations, until Budapest Boy and Luca labelled it tacky.
We now see it in a different light, which is a shame. In contrast they liked what they called the Scottish Christmas market in St Andrew Square. We want to check that out, but today was not the day, with a rucksack full of wine and bags full of party goodies for a lunch tomorrow with friends.
Roll on the beginning of January, when we plan to stop eating and drinking to excess.
