Nature seems harsh

I was watching a magnificent Barn Owl on the marshes at Parkgate on the Wirral when it flew passed me clutching a fresh catch. At first I thought it was the usual Vole or mouse but as my lens came into focus on the owl I saw it had baby Moorhen or Coot. Nature does seem to be very harsh at times but I guess the Barn Owl was feeding it's young and there are more moorhens and coots than barn owls but it's still a sad sight to see.
