mid summer

I was over in Edinburgh tonight, for dinner with a former colleague.

We had a good few trips to Lithuania together in the 90s, working on an EU project. Actually it started with funding from the UK Foreign Office. Then I got it upgraded.

The trips were tough but rewarding. We'd come back after a week there feeling tired and drained, but still on good terms.

Edinburgh had a "monsoon event" about 5pm Chaos on the roads & trains. I was lucky to get there & back without much trouble.

The resto was just off the Royal Mile, so I managed a quick shot of the gloomy vista. Weather has been so bad, I was almost tempted to feel sorry for the touroids. Rejected the idea very quickly.
