A Festive Westie

This little Westie and I had a deep and meaningful one sided conversation as he sheltered under a café table from the worst that Frank, the latest storm to hit our shores, could offer.

He was snug in his new Christmas waterproof jacket, looking very dapper despite his recent £3,500 surgery bill to fix a leg, shattered in several places by an out of control greyhound on Bruntsfield Links.
Today, his owner had obviously not heeded the saying 'You would not put a dog out in a day like today', but His Lordship and I were out, trudging forth into the rain and gale in an attempt to utilise some of the calories from yesterday's five hour lunch bonanza.

These hours included too much wine and nibbles, but were richly enhanced with story telling of lives lived in an Edinburgh of the past, almost unrecognisable from today's City.

The mirror on our lives, published every day on Blipfoto, is the reason I believe we should save this site, so that future generations will know what life was like in this day and age.
I do hope everyone interested in saving the site, will pledge now. In three weeks it could be too late and we will sink without trace. There will be no past entries to see and enjoy; no virtual friends to support or to share happiness with, just a blank screen and a void.

We are resting this afternoon in readiness for another festive dinner tonight with friends from my school days. There will be more reminiscing.
