Nothing happens here...

Another play day...

Macfisheries shops used to be a familiar sight in most high streets and their refrigerated lorries were to be seen at docksides in Scottish ports. So today and until it's finished I'm building a model of a 1960's Leyland Boxer LWB refrigerated lorry for use on the Port Appin diaorama.

I've prepared some artwork for the decals and found a Leyland lorry pic for references. (Even found an old view of a Macfisheries 1949 ERF loading fish at Ullapool).

My first visit to a Macfisheries shop was in Middlesbrough in 1967. I'd eaten a pineapple ring in batter at a local Chinese restaurant thinking it wash really exotic! (C'mon pineapple in batter - this is living!!!) Then passing Macf's on the way to the station I saw them on sale. Guess what I had for tea that night?
