On the way home

We left a damp Westport at 10am this morning, and decided to head to Reefton, stopping in the Buller Gorge for morning tea in the van.

Arriving in a very warm Reefton, we had a look around at the local motor camp and shops (which didn't take very long!), then decided to keep going, this time via the Rahu Saddle.  Stopping half way, we made lunch and spent some time relaxing and reading our books.

At the bottom of the Rahu Saddle is Springs Junction, where we decided to shout ourselves an ice cream at the tea rooms.  We sat outside, and watched the world go by, until we decided to carry on home.

It was 31.7 degrees C when we arrived home - I hope the planned rain for the weekend does actually arrive.

I took this photo after stopping for lunch at the Rahu Saddle.  It was lovely sitting in the shade of the tree.

It's New Year's Eve.  We have an early start in the morning to milk the cows, so we won't be waiting up to midnight.

Have a safe and happy evening blippers!
