"Friendly" Bikers

How many of us turn in to demons when we throw the car keys in the dish in the front hall and mount our push bikes for a ride? I do but as I rarely get on the "Wire Donkey" as they say here, it is seldom.

This morning got the message that son J had done a 25 mile muddy MTB ride yesterday in shorts & T-shirt. To his credit this was not a Christmas jinx but something he does every week with a group of friends, usually twice, starting out in the quiet, sleepy southern seaside town where an elderly cyclist was killed this year in a road rage attack! His route takes him up in to the Sussex Downs and always sometimes they are forced to pass a pub.

(I hope any Germans reading this realises "Downs" are actually "Ups" unless of course you are already up in which case they are down. Cricket rules Blip will follow for Germans wanting an insight in to this sport where often after 5 days toiling in the sun, all go home happy with a draw.)

The Blip taken on our Schickling dog walk along the river "West Guenz". In the Blip is a simple field drain which leads in to the nearby river which is far from being in flood but still giving me home thoughts from abroad for those along rivers in northern England and with no end in sight.

Our forecast is also for change. I think the storm "Frank" due in the Uk in the next few days will bring us a spot of rain and possibly a taste of winter with a bit of sleet possible on New Years Eve night. Neither, Nor weather by the sounds of it but better than in the UK.
