Manchester Ship Canal

I'm standing on a very high bridge. High enough for huge container ships to pass under as they take goods from the docks in Liverpool into the City of Manchester. I'm about half way between the two cities.

Top - Looking to Liverpool and the Sea (approx 18 miles)

Bottom - Looking to Manchester (approx 18 miles)

Extra - This is the sign that greeted my sister and I this morning as we got to the top of a pedestrian path leading from the road below onto the bridge. We wondered for a couple of minutes whether we should risk it given all the food we'd consumed in the last two days and over Christmas!!
