Dawn on the Clyde
We went in Glasgow quite early this morning and because the A83 at the Rest & Be Thankful was still closed after a landslip yesterday we used Western Ferries from Dunoon.
It was raining when we left home but there was a brief interlude when we were crossing when the sun almost came out, and the sunlight sparkled on the water.
When we got to the other side we discovered that the Rest diversion, via the Old Military Road, was about to open.
My extra photo is the Rest at 3.30. We came back that way after lunch with Annie & Dougie Lochhead, who are former neighbours and old friends. We got to the hillside just after it had been cleared which disappointed Cathleen a little as she has never seen the Old Military Road in action. I on the other hand was delighted and thankful for all the tremendous effort that has gone in to getting it open again.
So I wish a happy new year to all those who are using it or maintaining it tonight , to all my constituents who are now at least a little less inconvenienced, and to all blippers everywhere.
