Happy New Years Eve, Gran

The New Years Eve's of my growing up years through to my late 20's consisted of the whole family going round to Gran and Grandad's house, eating lots of food, drinking and having a good catchup and a good laugh. Neighbours would drop in via the open door and family from afar would call on the phone.

My Gran passed away in 2010 aged 101 and despite missing her terribly, I smile whenever I think of her. Every year since she left us I've had my New Year's Eve ales of choice in the tankard she got me for my 21st.
