I started Blip just one year ago, on this date, when I made the commitment to post a photo a day, just for myself, for the journal aspect of it.  A friend (Alecio Evangelista) told me about Blipfoto because of the quality of images that would show up and not be as condensed as they are on facebook.  And, he thought I would really enjoy it.  He was right on all points.  As others have expressed, I too was surprised by the sense of community here and how much I enjoy seeing all parts of the world through the eyes of the people who live there. 
The other element of this process is the discipline of doing a photo a day and while I don't obsess about it, it's become great fun to just be on the lookout for what I'm going to post for that day.  I've learned so much about my camera and myself in this year and I am thankful to Blipfoto for that, for the structure, for the feedback from others and the photo-family that has emerged. 
When a door closes, a window opens somewhere.  Blipfoto will only open if we all support it by pledging and taking ownership of it.  Let's DO IT!!!!!
