It's Written In The Stars!
As we await the results of an appeal for funding from the members, I wish you all a Happy New Year.
I started looking at Blipfoto nearly seven years ago, my daughters had both joined and I was very nervous about doing something so public on the internet. I didn't think I could get a photo everyday and I certainly didn't think I could write anything about my day. I was amused by someone. I think 42, taking the Proclaimers' song and saying that he "would blip 500 more". I liked the friendliness of the site and the images I was seeing.
The time became right, tracyflowerpot put up a blip of the top of a wine bottle and that was it. I wanted to give it a try! I just didn't dare tell The Daughters until I was sure I could do it, and then it became difficult to find the right time to tell them I WAS doing blips. I even left comments on their blips. It was katkatkat's 100th that caught me out. She looked back to see who was congratulating her and recognised a local hotel.
I have learnt, and learnt and still spend all the time I can, continuing to learn and encourage others. By my first year in blip I had taken a module of an OU course and by two years had formed a Photographic business and created a website. Blipfoto not only "saves lives", it changes lives too!
I cannot say enough about the love and support this site gives. It's members are congratulated on the highs in their lives and offered "hugs" through their lows. We enjoy seeing each other's families growing up.
It may well be written in the stars, but we have the power to effect what happens to Blipfoto, we can invest in its future! The required link is here.
A Happy Blipfuture to all of us!
