Hopes Reservoir
When I was young I always got a diary in my Christmas stocking. Every year I started to keep a diary – but every year it quickly fizzled out.
Ten years ago at Christmas I became the owner of a digital camera. A few months later BB came along and I started using my digital camera more and more and I thought wouldn’t it be nice to take a photo every day to record him growing up. I didn’t take a photo every day, but I definitely started taking more photographs.
Around four years ago I became aware of blip – but not really being into social media type things, I didn’t pay it much attention. Then somehow it all slotted into place that this was going to help me do the photo a day that I had been wanting to do, and exactly two years ago I took the plunge and posted my first blip.
At first I didn’t really know what to blip (or write) – but soon it all came together and now it is part of my daily routine – even late at night, when I am searching the house for an emergency blip. It is also a way of keeping that diary that I always wanted to keep when I was young, and now it is a record of BB growing up - not me!
Blip has made me much more observant of the world around me – I see things I would never have seen before. I love the blip community and being able to share in your blip journeys.
We have just taken down our Blip calendar for 2015, and TT was disappointed that we don’t have one for this year. A Star Wars calendar has taken its place. Maybe next year we will have another Blip calendar.
We walked to Hopes Reservoir in the Lammermuirs today. One of my hopes for 2016 is that we can continue to blip. I have pledged – I hope you will consider pledging for the future of blipfoto too.
Have a great 2016!
