Akoroa
Despite the wet weather, another stunning drive, this time over Arthur's Pass, brought us safely to the harbour town of Akoroa. We had been warned that since the Christchurch earthquake, cruise ships docked here, but there were non to be seen when we arrived.
A leisurely afternoon exploring the harbour before settling in a friendly looking restaurant on the beach serving freshly caught fish for dinner accompanied by live music served with plenty of NZ wine of course We were spoilt with this fabulous view of the bay.
When we asked about a taxi home, the bar staff just laughed, once they had sufficiently recovered however, one of them drove us back to our campsite. Just about sums up the lovely people we have met so far on our trip.
Last night with Bessie - I am going to miss her!
