Beached whale

We couldn't go on a new years day walk without going to see the whale. It's become a bit of a tourist attraction in Ynyslas. 

It was quite impressive to see something like that in real life, but sad at the same time as it was in rather a bad way. It's thought to be the remains of a minke whales. What's strange though is that it's bottom jaw is missing and it's upper jaw has been sawn off. Having read an article about it, this missing jaw may be taken for an autotopsy to find out how it died.
