Let's Go For A Walk!

Whose brilliant idea was that? 2016 began much as 2015 ended, grey, dreary, rainy and up on the top at Old John in Bradgate Park, cold in a biting wind.

This family had the footwear but 'Mum' looks as if she wouldn't have minded another sweater or two.

Car parks at favourite walking spots were full to overflowing. Len, Basil and I had started by driving to Thornton Reservoir, where parking is limited anyway. No chance there, so we drove on to Old John at the top of the hill from Newtown Linford.

I've always wondered why there's such a big car park at Old John. I could see why on this occasion. And still cars were parked outside on the road.

We pottered around for an hour then drove home for roast pork and Skyfall on the telly.

Sad news earlier of the death of the former chairman of S&DCC. RIP.
