New Year Plant Hunt
I'm finally dry and warm again after spending nearly 3 hours in the pouring rain carrying out the BSBI New Year Plant Survey. I found 24 different species in flower at the nature reserve, including this unexpected Burnet-saxifrage, a delicate umbellifer found in chalk grassland. Another unexpected flower was Dog's Mercury - see extra photo. You can also see a drenched me at the end of my hunt.
