Flood Damaged Canal

This is the Rochdale Canal - upstream from Hebden Bridge towards Todmorden.  In the far distance just beyond the greenhouse (there used to be five) you will see that the towpath has collapsed.  The contents of the canal then joined the River Calder - on the left - and this caused the rapid rise in flood water level in Hebden Bridge.
It will be some time before the canal will be available for boating again.
