Little gull

2015 was a good year for me at Ringstead Bay, with some good birds right to the end of the year. And now 2016 has got off to a cracking start with three little gulls feeding close inshore this afternoon. My first little gull sighting at Ringstead, and a bird I'm always delighted to see anywhere.

OK, I understand that to many people it's just a seagull, but it's a really dinky little bird that flits over the waves, dipping and diving to snatch tiny scraps of food out of the surf, showing blackish underwings and an even white border round the edges of the rounded wings.
