First 2016 Family Visit

After camping on Whidbey Island for a few days in their giant RV, my daughter E and family drove up to Bellingham yesterday evening and treated us to dinner at La Fiamma -- a favorite of us all.

After dinner they asked if they could stay the night in the RV on the street, and picked up a few pints of Mallard ice cream for dessert at our house. We would have agreed even if they hadn't bought the ice cream!

This morning I went out for a walk with E, grandaughter Z, and the two labs. Although the sun was shining, the air was frigid, and after several days like this there was thick frost and ice in areas that the sun couldn't reach -- see extra photo.

We didn't get together very often last year -- we'll try to do better in 2016. We're off to a good start.
