Crunchy with lots of legs - yummmy!

Came home to see this young swallow perched on the fence in the garden. It stayed there for over 3 hours before being tempted up on to the roof by the parents who were obviously a little concerned at Guinness who was prowling around!
(And so they should have been - after i had shooed him away from the wall for about the 20th time he disappeared out the cat flap at the back and returned about 5 mins later with a wee finch.... sigh.)
Got lots of great shots but I think this is my favourite! If you look closely or in large you can see the rather large leggy looking bug in the parents mouth - yummy!

I really do love swallows.... so lucky to have so many at our house.

P.S After all the torrential rain we suddenly had a heat wave here today! Reached into the 20s today - a miracle after weeks and weeks of barely getting above 12 degrees. A gorgeous evening spent in the garden.
