It can't get more special
This is the last jewellery box my husband made. It's for our second granddaughter but we've put it aside until she turns 15. Having made several now he said he was sick and tired of making them and was eager to move onto something entirely different. But a letter came today to change all that.
You see, we have friends who lost their 40-something year old daughter to cancer 3 years ago. They asked if my husband would make them a wooden box to carry some of the mementos they have kept of her. A box to hold some special photos, a childhood drawing, first bracelet, cards, ultra-sound photo when she was pregnant with her only child, knick-knacks that they've held onto ... just as they have held fast on to her memory and her loss.
He's thrilled and can't wait to get started.
