Salvage from the Wreckage

After a game of tennis that started in the rain and then moved into the bubble(!) M and I went to look at cars. The little Peugeot is on borrowed time - oil leak, dodgy head gasket and there's usually an engine warning light on - and it's time to look for a replacement.

Started off sensibly with minis. And then continued - still sensibly, I must stress - by looking at Audi TTs. I've always wanted to be a hairdresser and I need a turbocharged 4WD four seater. All I need now are two people small enough to fit in the back seats.

I played it canny and left them stewing. We shall see...

The sales lady assumed that M was buying the car and that his dad was there to stop him throwing too much money away on an old car. She addressed all her sales pitch to him. Even after I said that I was buying it, she just assumed that I was buying an old car for my son. It was only when he got left behind for the test drive (he just wouldn't fit in that back seat) that she realised that the old, cheap car was for me...
