Banishing unwanted phone calls...

Just a quick blip as I've been busy most of the day rewiring the phones in my Mum-in-Law's house so that they can all connect through this device. (And the weather has been so wet it wasn't at all tempting to go out!).

Mum-in-Law is so nice with anyone who telephones her (and a touch forgetful at age 92) that she's occasionally been sold things she doesn't need (eg 4 separate insurance policies, none of which were necessary, for her "Sky" tv equipment). This device uses "Caller Line ID" to intercept all calls which are not on a "Trusted number" list which we can edit on the web. (With Trusted numbers the phone works completely normally.) International calls from family can still get through if, when prompted, they enter an access code which we'll give them, and we can record a message giving her daughter's numbers so that genuine callers without the code can send a message through via them if it's important.

So far it seems to be working well...at least it is now that we've phoned the helpline and had them do an on-line firmware upgrade to allow it to work with what is apparently a very modern telephone exchange here!

(PS I don't have any financial interest in "Truecall"!!)
