Searching for Beavers

Torrential rain as we left Fishnish.  One last visit to the Hide, in a last hope of an otter sighting, but no luck.  

The ferry back from Craignure to Oban was full.  Several cars didn't get on because they hadn't booked in advance.  

We then drove south through Kilmartin Glen, and along the Crinan Canal into Knapdale Forest, to the Scottish Beaver Trial Centre at Loch Barnluasgan seen here.  A walk around this loch, and then along the shore path of Loch Coille-Bharr.  Evidence of lots of damming, and some good information boards, but no beaver sightings today. 

Dinner in Ardrishaig at the Grey Gull, and then we headed north to Inveraray.
