Singapore Butterfly Garden

So we are in Singapore and not Hong Kong!!

We arrived at Sydney airport to check into our flight as we couldn't do online check in (i knew something was up!).  Our flight to Hong Kong was being operated by Cathay even though we booked everything with BA....BA and Cathay code share / partner up etc.

We were told the flight was over subscribed and they couldn't get us on the planned flight and our alternative was to fly with a different airline and via a different city.  So Cathay (being professional) advised that Qantas could take us, sorted out all the paperwork and transferred us over to Qantas.

Qantas check in staff were beyond stroppy!  A comment of 'you will get whatever seat we have available as we have to keep our paying guests happy first' was greeted with 'we are full paying passengers with BA and its not our fault BA/ Cathay have over sub'd the flight'.  Qantas check in then said we were on 'standby'.  Uh nooooo, says me, we didn't agree to transfer over to Qantas to then go on standby, we are full paying fare passengers!!

Anyway, to cut a long story short, check in admitted they made a mistake with the 'standby' and checked us in to fly from Sydney to Singapore.

I took our boarding tickets, went to the lounge and promptly spoke to a lovely customer service agent who sorted out our seats so that we could be seated together!!
Anyway, there is always a silver lining to things, I was happy that we got a flight as others were not going to be so lucky and I remembered fellow blipper Paladian here had mentioned the Butterfy Garden at Singapore airport.

So we landed and headed straight to the Butterflies.....blip sorted!

We now have a rather long wait to our BA flight.....BA lounge located, showers shortly, followed by some food.

LHR here we come!!
