Hypothermia

There is no better definition for clear, white, blue and fresh than the water of the Atlantic Ocean. On the other hand, it can be killing as well in all its beauty. Unprotected in this water temperature you will die from hypothermia within half an hour. Just received a Pan Pan message from the French Coastguard of a 'man overboard' eight nautical miles from our position. Turned around and gave recu (that's how you call it when you offer assistance) but there were already three Northbound vessels who also gave recu. Since we are Southbound we got permission to proceed to our original destination. Just before I wanted to upload this picture, the French Coastguard called us to tell that a plane spotted two liferafts. They requested us to turn around again and to proceed to the position of the man overboard. This time our distance is 30 miles. Our ETA is 19:30 tonight, so by that time it will be pitch dark. Too dark for pictures anyway. Tomorrow I will give an update.
