The World in Microcosm

I was immediately taken with the swirls in the stream of water separating the end of our drive from the public road as I headed out on foot this afternoon to photograph the much-swollen River Don.

This tiny rivulet seems to me to capture, on a minute scale, what is happening all over the country at the moment.

Fortunately we're still several metres above the surrounding water level, and so can enjoy sights and reflections such as this in comfort and safety. Our commiserations go out to all those who are not so fortunate.
