High Peaks Trail

This view is from the top of the ridge on the High Peaks Trail after our hike up a set of switchbacks in Pinnacles National Park. There are many reasons to lament aspects of the American endeavor, but the establishment of the National Parks System, setting aside large tracts of wild and beautiful country for the enjoyment of the public is one of our finest accomplishments.
