is notoriously difficult to photograph, how to manage the wide dynamic range - take differently exposed shots on a rigid tripod, try and get it all in or go for simplicity, and wide or narrow depth of focus.

I needed a five stop difference to allow correct exposure of the foreground and the east window, amalgamated in Photoshop, and a narrow depth of focus to bring the foreground into prominence and subdue the background.
