What.a.day.
Started off pleasant enough except for the perpetual rain but went downhill at lunchtime...
As Red ate his lunch he let out a squeal and shouted "ow! Hurt!" and waved his right thumb at me. I went to rub it better and realised it was bent. And stuck. No amount of gentle coaxing would unlock it.
So we wandered along to Minor Injuries and were booked in at 13.35. At 14.35 we were seen and sent for an X-ray. Which took a good 30minuted of coaxing to get ONE picture.
Meanwhile Bella, Ally and Lily have walked from school to meet us and are sat as good as gold in the waiting room!
We waited a bit longer and were told he had probably dislocated it but it was hard to tell from the X-ray do they thought we should go to A&E at Truro. And Red is to not eat or drink ANYTHING just in case.
So we zoom home to grab stuff for the big kids and spare pants/trousers for Red then drop the big 3 off with MickeyJohn after grabbing drive thru Mcd's for them all.
We make it to Treliske by 5.30 and are triaged fairly quickly and sent to the children's waiting area. Where we wait... After some time we are sent to another room to wait... Then we are sent to wait for an X-ray... Then we are sent back to wait again...
Finally we are allowed to leave at 10pm. His thumb is not dislocated but there is a problem with the tendons. The A&E consultant called in an Orthopod who wants to discuss my smallest boy with the hand surgeons tomorrow. She will call and let us know what they decide in the morning...
The blip is the only photo I took and was taken in the early stages of our waiting, when we were still in fairly high spirits!!
