...are friends electric...

The electrician turned up today for the first fix....which basically involved threading the wiring through the cavity in the conservatory wall.......he also took down our outside light and promised to move it where ever we want it next week. So.......the frame and glass are being fitted on 12th and 13th.....and then the electrician finishes all the sockets, lighting, heating and fan.....then the floor goes down and it should all be finished by the promised date of the 17th.

I could have called today's blip.....I am Legend....but that's not a song lyric. we had intake evening for our new year 7 pupils starting with us in September. Obviously, having worked in the same establishment for 33 years I recognised a fair few of the parents and they me. I spotted one woman who must be approaching 50, she was with her niece and her mother. The mother peered at my name badge and said, "Oh you're the famous Mr.G. You taught her", pointing at the other lady, "and my other daughter, and now this one's coming to you. You were their favourite, they talked about you for 5 years and they sometimes still do. I must come round there and meet the Legend....and you're lovely too!"
we chatted for a few minutes and then they left.

Shortly after I went to meet the Boss at the pub for the quiz. When it was over I went out for a fag...and ran into three young men I taught....they all wanted to buy me a drink, but alas I was driving....but they promised to be back next Thursday!

Oh, almost forgot....we won the quiz.......by a clear 9 points....48 out of a possible 55!

All in all not a bad day!
